Mentor Process

How It Works

The mentoring process begins with each startup meeting potential mentors in a 20-30 minute speed meeting setting. This allows for a low-pressure, low commitment mechanism to connect with and learn from diverse ideas quickly, and make adjustments on a continuous basis. After the initial meetings, both mentors and startups engage in a mutual matching process to help identify beneficial relationships and initiate in-depth conversation about leveraging their new mentors to help move their business forward.

There are three potential avenues of mentorship within the Iowa AgriTech Accelerator:

Dedicated Mentorship

1 on 1 assigned mentorship based on mutual matching process

Group Mentorship

Provide specific expertise to cohort through discussion, office hours or hosting of an organized session

Community Member

Provide support by attending events, pitch practices, etc.
