Accelerator Executive Director Megan Vollstedt and startups from the program’s 2017 and 2018 cohorts are set to participate in the Farm Progress Tech Forum later this month. The forum will be held at the Coralville Marriott and Conference Center in Iowa City November 27–28 and is hosted by the editors of Corn + Soybean Digest. The two-day event will display the latest precision ag technology and provide valuable learning sessions for attendees.

The Accelerator is excited to participate in one of the learning sessions, “Future Think Session: AgTech Startups & Hands-on AgTech.” The event starts at 4:30 p.m. in the Tech Zone, where Chad Colby with Colby AgTech will kick off the session with a drone demonstration. Megan Vollstedt will then take the stage to introduce the startups who will be on hand to showcase their innovations. Participating startups include:

U.S. Design Consultants — Accelerator Class of 2018 alum and Osceola, Iowa-based startup U.S. Design Consultants has developed an innovative method of broadcast dispensing granular products that addresses fundamental challenges and eliminates negative consequences attributed to conventional broadcast dispensing equipment.

WISRANAccelerator Class of 2017 alum and Sunnyvale, California-based startup WISRAN has developed an app that measures the actual time and true cost of operating equipment and labor by field in real-time during operation.

FarrPro — Accelerator Class of 2017 alum and Iowa City-based startup FarrPro has produced a heater for farrowing facilities that creates a microclimate for piglets with the aims of reducing energy costs.

Rantizo — Iowa City-based startup Rantizo has produced a drone that delivers targeted liquid sprays precisely where they are needed in agricultural applications.
